Born of Shadows by Sherrilyn Kenyon - League #5

In the universe where the League is law, most live in fear. We fight back. Welcome to a world where corrupt assassination politics dominate everyone. It's kill or be killed.

For Caillen Dagan, a defiant soldier of fortune, survival isn't a right, it's a brutal daily battle. Moving through the Ichidian universe like a wraith, his brushes with the law and death are legendary. But when an act of rare heroism reveals his hidden birthright, he's forced into a world much more dangerous and cold-hearted than the bloody streets where he was raised- one of obscene wealth and lethal politics.

Ferocious and determined, Desideria Denaraii serves as an official bodyguard for her queen. Born of questionable genetics, she will do anything to prove herself worthy of the weapons she carries and the position she's won by combat. But when she uncovers a ruthless plot to assassinate the queen and overthrow her country's government, Desideria is caught in the crosshairs.

With assassination contracts out on both of them, Caillen and Desideria must learn to fight together or die alone. And if they fail, their governments will fall into the hands of an unimaginable evil.

I loved the characters, the story and the ending.  I look forward to more books in this series and recommend this series!

Big Bad Beast by Shelly Laurenston Pride #6

When it comes to following her instincts, former Marine Dee-Ann Smith never holds back. And this deadly member of a shifter protection group will do anything to prove one of her own kind is having hybrids captured for dogfights. Trouble is, her too-cute rich-boy boss Ric Van Holtz insists on helping out. And his crazy-like-a-fox smarts and charming persistence are making it real hard for Dee to keep her heart safe...
Ric can't believe his luck. He's wanted this fiercely-independent she-wolf from day one, but he never expected teamwork as explosive as this. And now is his last chance to show Dee what she needs isn't some in-your-face Alpha male-but a wily, resourceful wolf who'll always have her back in a fight…and between the sheets.
I love the humor!  Can't get enough!  I always look forward to one of Shelly's books.  If you love PR with humor this is a series for you!  I recommend any of Shelly's books!

Hunt Me by Shiloh Walker - Hunters #12.5
She’s been keeping secrets…

Drew Quentin has been crazy about sexy Dakota Coulter from the moment he met her, but after two years of dating, he still doesn’t have her phone number. Sooner or later, a man has to move on.

That was the plan. But the night he broke things off, things went from bad to worse…and he figured out some of her secrets…bloodthirsty secrets.

Dakota Coulter is having a lousy night. The man she loves just broke up with her. And she can’t even take an hour to sulk, because duty calls—and as a Hunter, she must answer.

Being a vampire is hell on the love life, that’s for sure. But it will get better, right? Just do the job, get out of town and oh…avoid the ex-lover who is suddenly out to track her down. Too bad a happy reunion is soooo not on his mind.

This was a short story but a very good read.  This is one of my favorite series  I love a good HEA!

The Unbearable Lightness of Dragons by Katie MacAlister - Light Dragons #2

Even an ancient dragon can learn how to multitask…
Ysolde de Bouchier is a woman beset with trials. The dragon part of her buried deep for centuries is still making itself known, but in ways that just don’t make sense. She’s continuing to have visions, but now they involve events she wasn’t present to witness.
As if that isn’t enough, she’s caught up in a tangled web of plans that seem to grow more complex each day. Not only does she have to work out peace between her Light Dragon mate Baltic and the weyr, she also has to free his friend, convince an archimage to lift the spell controlling her magic, figure out what it is that the First Dragon expects her to do, rescue a half-dragon damsel in over her head, and once and for all clear Baltic’s name of murder charges that continue to plague him.
No one told Ysolde that dragon love would be so hard…

This is another author with good humor in her writings.  I love all the characters in this and related series.  I always look forward to reading Katie MacAlister's books!

Cougar by Beverly Rae Wild Things #1

She likes her men rough, tough…and two at a time.
Shannon Tally’s heart has been broken one too many times, but it hasn’t put a damper on her sex drive. If guys can play the field, so can she. And the two hot, sweaty ranch hands she spots “in the field” at her cousin’s ranch will do nicely to play out her wildest fantasy: to tame not just one hunky cowboy, but two. At the same time.
Humans are a mystery to cougar shifter Chase Reya. They invade his home, threatening the animals and his solitude. That’s why his leader sent him to the Tally ranch, to learn how to get along with humans. Or at least not to slice and dice them.
He never expected Shannon to stir a whirlwind of heat. And when the alluring female shares her affections with a werewolf, the combined sexual desire erupts even hotter. Only one person can generate this kind of passion—but can his lifelong mate be a human? For Shannon, a self-proclaimed lady “cougar”, fidelity could be a tall order. Not to mention accepting his true nature…

Beverly Rae is an auto buy for me.  I loved this story!  This is a steamy M/F/M!  I recommend Beverly Rae's books!

I Married a Dragon by Beverly Rae Para-Mates #2

Burn, baby, burn!
Owner of the supernatural myth-busting company, Debunkers, Inc., Chrissy Taylor believes everything has a logical explanation. Throwing caution aside for once in her life, she falls hard for a mysterious hunk who whisks her off to Vegas for a quickie marriage. Now that they’ve returned home to Hotlanta, can she accept the strange people in his life─including a mouse-munching assistant? When she discovers she’s married a real, fire-breathing dragon, will she help him recover the powerful dragon-slaying weapon, the Scepter of Fire, and give him the heir he so desperately needs? Or run from the flames licking her heels?

Samson's Lovely Mortal by Tina Folsom Scanguards Vampires #1

Vampire bachelor Samson can't get it up anymore. Not even his shrink can help him. That changes when the lovely mortal auditor Delilah tumbles into his arms. Suddenly there's nothing wrong with his hydraulics ... However, trying to hide the fact he's a vampire is all of a sudden not his only problem, because when compromising documents are found in Delilah's possession, Samson wonders whether she's the one who has more to hide than he does.
This is the first book I read by Tina Folsom, but have been eyeballing her books for a while!  So when Amazon had this story for free I finally got the opportunity to check out her writing.  I now have a new author I love.  I will now have to buy the rest of this series.  I look forward to reading the rest of this series!
